While organising a synthesizer performance of Daevid Allen's 7 Drones, I recorded this mock up version to give The Mandala Synth Orchestra members an audio idea of what I wanted. This meditation piece is normally performed on Glissando Guitar by The Glissando Guitar Orchestra of which I am also a member, converting it to synthesizers has been a major challenge. I wanted to keep the essence of Daevid's vision but justify the use of synthesizers by creating something unique. This recording represents 3 days of continuous recording and mixing and months of mental contemplation. After so much effort and listening to the results I have decided that it is worth a public release.
I hope that you find this interesting and enjoyable.
The Mandala Synth Orchestra will make it's debut performance at the UKs Kozfest on July 29th 2023. Hopefully a live recording will be made of that event, fingers crossed!
